The Inferno Heat Shield keeps your panniers and side panels away from the infernal heat of your muffler. One ore more properly installed Inferno Heat Shields can reliably avoid any meltdown.
Exhaust systems can get as hot as 650°C - neither your soft luggage nor its content is able to sustain such temperatures. However, only a small distance between the muffler and the luggage is enough to let the heat dissipate. Additionally, the forced convection of the airflow will further improve the cooling capacity.
